The laser is removable. Take it off to play a round and put it back on whenever you want to check your aim again. The alignment guide you choose stays attached, which is what makes the putter legal for play.
The putter itself has nearly 90% of its head weight in the heel and toe, using tungsten. This makes the mallet more stable and helps it resist twisting through impact.
